that barack obama is self-confident and you see a seemingly different president to d today than we saw a year or two ago when we went through the debt nonsense in the middle of 2011. i think that he feels much more able to pull the strings and know what the power is and isn't. he's been scandal-free, and in part, that comes from the top. no disrespect to any of the presidents who got into problems bu but he sets a standard that people know the line they have to tow and they know it and that is why the administration has done well, and he will have the republicans at him and that is going to keep him from the overreach from the republicans. >> and history is what the president has to worry about, because this is almost like deja vu all over again and it takes the scandal out of f the scandal out of it, but the fog of war and what may happen, and what the president has to be cognizant of and not just the presidents that you mentioned, but lyndon baines johnson and other presidents that in the second term things happen o outside of their reach, and he needs to be cognizant of history. >> thank

for president obama four years ago and we had no idea what we were doing, i can tell you the folks, regardless of who the chair is and the folks at j.t.f. are there ready for you when you walk in the door and do the logistical lift. we make sure the president's imprint is put on one of these events. in the parade as the colonel mentioned along with all of these military elements, there are 58 different groups. 58 different groups, floats and vehicles. these are from all 50 states. they are everything from the virginia military institute just across the river in virginia, down in southern virginia, which has marched in a number of inaugural parades through a group of maine of unicyclists, which are called the jim dandies. they will pass review in front of the white house. the president will stand and watch the entire review and enjoy the parade along with thousands of folks who will come down and be watching from along the parade route. once that ends, the president goes inside and the official part of his day is done. and he gets ready for the inaugural balls. as you have seen and reported, th

reasons. but it's interesting to note in the last 90 years, out of the 11 times that the budget from the president has been late, four of those 11 have been under the obama administration. we're also informed that there is a chance once again, like there was a year and a half ago, that our credit rating of the u.s. could be lowered again. by another credit rating agency. some have tried to paint it as a different story, different picture, but for those of us who recall what happened, s&p made it clear that they didn't believe that the united states was serious about dealing with this dramatic spending problem, overspending problem. where we were spending $1.5 billion, $1.6 trillion, over $1 trillion more than the $2-plus trillion that we had coming in. and that if we didn't at least reduce the massive overspending annually by at least $400,000 -- $400 billion, rather, for 10 years, a total of $4 trillion over a 10-year period, then it would make it pretty clear that we were not serious about dealing with our debt. i know the obama administration went on the warpath after s&p, after t

a election in this country. whether any technology lessons to be drawn from this years election? >> it's always hard to reason from one event. the winners get to write history and the losers think about the next election. there's no question the obama campaign, had a technology strategy that helped elect the president. they had little processors and targeted programs and send out the vote. to me the way to say this is governments are going to change, too. because on the one hand governments have an awful time delivering services. now we can measure the. if someone as you give me some money to donate rice to the following village, we cannot check whether the rice got there. a check and balance on sort of the corruption. and we can test the effectiveness of programs. to give you some of the more worrisome examples, governments can know where people really are and governments can figure out where people report what they're doing versus what they're actually doing. there are all sorts of worrisome scenarios that you can imagine, the slippery slope. i'll pick one in britain. in london when
